From my on going project “Patron Saints and Vanitas” based on the idea of appropriating imagery popular during the Renaissance to make it relevant today.

The word Vanitas in Latin means “emptiness” and loosely translated corresponds to the meaninglessness of earthly life and the transient nature of vanity. These still life’s contain objects that have a semiotic relationship with the ephemeralness of life, the futility of pleasure, and the certainty of death.
